Featured Runner “Jeremy Harrison” June 2019

Jeremy Harrison (in his own words): I have always been driven and I like to win. I spent too many years chasing what I thought was the “American Dream.” I got it and it didn’t make me happy (in fact, it made me miserable). It’s not fun to look in the mirror and not recognize the person there. Running and working out became therapy allowing me to find and feel good about myself. I actually find the painful aspects of ultra-running very satisfying. Once I discovered trails I was hooked. Then I became a part of this crazy community and it snowballed. I no longer feel I have to win everything which is a good thing since I am not that fast. I have gotten better about living in the moment and just enjoying experiences. I still have an obsessive personality but it is channeled more toward this crazy ultra-running sport and being outdoors hiking which is healthier, I think.
