Bryan Carpenter (in his own words): I am a father of four and am happily married to my best friend Trisha for 10+ years. I want to publicly acknowledge her for always being by my side encouraging me to be the best I can. She sometimes doesn’t like the torture/agony I afflict on myself to accomplish some of these grueling races; however, she is always there to put me back together. Knowing I have a wonderful family and a terrific “base”, gives me the confidence that I can conquer anything.
Why do I run? I run to burn off that extra energy. Some would say to “run off the crazy”. Whatever it may be called, it keeps me calm. I also like to run for the challenge and the bling. I enjoy looking at a race where the DNF percentage is high and the bling is shiny. It makes me want to conquer a specific race. Also, through running, I want to be an example for my children that through preparation, hard work, and determination they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
